Market Muses, Different Views

Writing in prose offers a different perspective on some of the more difficult, complicated, and or confusing aspects of modern day investing.  New muses are published monthly in my Blog 4Retiring.  I have collected 60 prior Muses in an eBook.  An original date of publication is provided for some historical reference as to what might have prompted the Muse.  Some are published on a reoccurring basis such as "Sell In May", it gets published every May.

eBooks are published in PDF form, a link for the ebook purchased will be sent to the purchaser by email. Purchases can be made only with credit or debit card.

Financial Perspectives 4Retiring

Shortly after starting LayLine, I began sending out weekly EViews (my views and perspectives, sent electronically) to keep clients updated on a wide range of financial topics pertaining to managing income, investing and retiring.  EViews are now published Thursdays in my Blog 4Retiring.

Financial Perspectives 4Retiring contains 57 previously published EViews providing a good base of knowledge related to income management, investing, and planning 4Retiring. eBooks are published in PDF form, a link for each eBook purchased will be sent to the purchaser by email. Purchases can be made only with credit or debit card.

    Sell in May

Sell in May and go away you’ve heard so many say,

The original saying is said to go this way.

“Sell in May and go away,

Stay away till St. Leger’s Day”.

The original verse relates to an old English horse race,

But in the USA, it’s more an agricultural case.

Fall harvest money is invested with haste,

Come spring, it’s sent back to put new crops in place.

IRA and 401k contributions now add to the investment lore,

Invested prior to May before taxes make us poor.

The money flow dries up waiting for Yom Kippur,

When investing commences, providing opportunities galore.

Making investments based on Wall Street one-liners,

Often turning good investors into whiners.

However, the verse “Sell in May” is like a canary for miners,

It’s an early warning sign for summer equity climbers.
